Casio Roofs – Matthew Mellor Smith

Casio Roofs – Matthew Mellor Smith Review – A 90 year old woman in Greenfield, Oldham wanted to get her outhouse roof, dormer window and chimney improved. Matthew wanted payments up front in cash, gave all sorts of excuses about vans needing to be repaired, buying materials before they could work etc. Part way through they asked for even more cash to buy extra slates as ‘their supplier’ had miscalculated! What was bought? you can see from the picture that there are many cracked and broken slates, highlighted in yellow.

There were delays completing the work. After being paid in full they left all the rubbish piled up against the outhouse. On the quote and the cash receipt, waste removal was itemised. 6 months later it was still there, ignoring any communication from the poor 90 year old, her son and her neighbour. The neighbour also had the outhouse re-slated.

The quality of the work was very poor. You can see from the pictures that the dormer window repair is terrible with untreated wood just jamming the roofing felt under the slates. In many ways it has been left worse than it was before.

Even thought remedial work is required they have given up all communication and have never been back. The outhouse is leaking terribly, saturating timbers and water entering in numerous places, pooling on the floor.

In short the work quality, customer relations and professional standards are extremely poor to non existent, stay away. This review is a warning to others. If Casio Roofs and building – Matthew Smith now possibly calling himself Matthew Reaney will refund the £4000 we will take down the review. The money can then be used to pay someone else to redo the work to professional standards.

UPDATE 27/3/2024

Mr Smith contacted us and said he wanted the page taking down, no apology. He asked about a payment plan I told him the terms I would accept. As yet no money has been seen.

We have had a builder up to remedy the work and he revealed yet another nightmare. The previous roof hadn’t even been stripped off. They just laid the new rubber over the top!!
